Improving outcomes for children, young people, their families and the wider community
We are always looking for volunteers and can help you find the right volunteering opportunity for you.
From working with the elderly through to helping young families, we can help you to find the right fit for the time and experience you have, including through our Book Banks © project.
The St Albans CVS (Centre for Voluntary service) is always looking for volunteers for a variety of different reasons – check out their website for more information. www.cvsstalbans.org.uk
'Getting Involved' in St Albans District is your one stop shop for finding different ways to get involved with your local community. There are many different ways to take part in the community ranging from:
• Providing feedback by taking part in consultations
• Attending Police Priority setting meetings for your neighbourhood
• Becoming a community leader e.g. trustee of a charity
• Fundraising for a local charity
• Attending community events
DBS checks (formerly Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks)
To comply with the law, all organisations who work with vulnerable adults and children need to be aware that staff and volunteers must be screened.
